United Prayer Rising PHILIPPINES
Last July 2016, a global call for UNITED PRAYER was trumpeted in South Korea; it‟s called the UPRISING (United Prayer Rising). Over 32 different nations from different regions have gathered; it was a convergence where „fathers and mothers‟ and „sons and daughters‟ locked arms to see the next generation be released to their destiny. We saw the UPRISING give birth to a new wave of a prayer and mission movement that is for the youth and is by the youth. (see www.unitedprayerrising.com for more details).
We recognize that in the global attack on the youth today, the Filipinos are not exempted. With the advancing technology and the vanishing father-child connection, we are witnessing a generation raised mainly by the media, losing their sense of identity and destiny, and instead, are being bound to lust, sexual immorality, abortion, dysfunctional families, and even child abuse and exploitation. In spite of all, we believe that God is stirring His greatest move in this season.
Early this year, the UPRISING Philippines National Dream Team was formed and convened in Baguio City to seek the Lord about UPRISING PH. After much prayer, the team decided on the date and the venue: September 11, 2017 in Davao City, Mindanao. Then, months later, Marawi happened.
Last May 23, 2017, the enemy has shown its ugly head in a terrorist attack in Mindanao, but instead of being threatened, we believe that the Lord has revealed the “Goliath” that this generation of “Davids” will be confronting. We are going to face a national spiritual battle head on, and we strongly believe that it will have ripple effects across the world.
16 years ago, 9/11 marked the world with terror and fear. Well, David once asked, “can God change a nation in a day?” Yes, He can. We believe that on 9/11, 16 years later, Perfect Love will drive out that fear.
So, on September 8 to 11, 2017, at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) in Davao City, we are blowing the trumpet, consecrating a fast, and proclaiming a solemn assembly (Joel 2:15- 17). We will witness a spiritual uprising in the Philippines.
UPRISING Philippines will be a catalytic prayer convergence of young, emerging leaders from different church networks, denominations and streams across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, to see a reversal of this global trend of attack to the young generation and see the birthing of new prayer and missions movement, for the youth and by the youth. There will be powerful worship sessions, relevant plenary sessions, empowering breakout prayer rooms, and a Solemn Assembly to release declarations of revival and unity for the whole nation. It will bring together a projected estimate of 6,000 leaders, young and old alike, in a 3-Day Convergence, and 10,000 for the Solemn Assembly.
